Dragonfly Counseling appeared in the Albuquerque area in 2001. Although the owner had never intended it to be an "agency," therapist began calling with requests to work for her. The first year the "agency" existed, but it did not have a name. After about a year several therapists and the owner wrote down a number of different possibilities and invited each client that came in for treatment over a one-week period to pick their favorite out of the various possibilities. Every client that voted picked 'Dragonfly."

In several different cultures, Dragonflies carry spiritual messages to people who need to hear them. We at Dragonfly Counseling try to provide people with alternatives. We carry the messages of hope and spirituality to every client we serve.

Dragonfly Counseling is a community based, Metal Health Center. We have Master's level therapists as well as Master's level interns who provide quality treatment to all of our clients. We are an "alternative" agency. We are informal, reality based, frequently individuals-most of whom have significant experiences with addictions and mental illness in our own families. We don't do "cookie-cutter" therapy-meaning all clients get an individualized treatment plan-built for them. We are not a place that makes all of our clients do the exact same program, regardless of their needs. We hope to see you here if you need us.
